Slava Kodorkovsky

lava Khodorkovsky (1945-2015) (who also signed his works as Slava Khodar) was born in St. Petersburg, Russia.

In 1972 Slava graduated from the famous Savitsky Art College where he later became a professor. Many of his students went on to become members of the elite All Union Artists Society (Soyuz Khudozhnikov).

In 1974 Slava continued his study at the renowned Mukhin Academy of Fine Arts. His paintings were displayed at the Academy's Museum, where they are still a part of the exhibition. During these years he took part in various art shows in the Soviet Union and abroad.

From the very beginning Slava immersed himself in Russian art tradition. He traveled the country painting, crafting stained-glass windows and mosaics, and exhibiting his work. In 1983 he started to work for the Artistic Fund of the All Union Art Society. He spent most of the next five years creating monumental paintings in many cities around Russia.

Slava emigrated to US in 1988 where he lived and worked in New York City.
